The Sony lens has a focal length of 70 to 200 millimetres and an aperture of f/4.0. It has an E-mount and can therefore be used with the new 35mm format cameras from Sony. The telephoto focal length makes the lens ideal for long-distance shots in nature or for sports photography.

The ultrasonic motor offers quiet, powerful autofocus, which further optimizes the focusing speed in the telephoto range. And the optical SteadyShot reduces camera shake in hand-held shots for improved results when zooming in or out.

The optical construction of the lens consists of 21 lenses in 15 groups and therefore enables outstanding image quality. In addition, the circular aperture with nine aperture blades ensures beautiful blurring in the area of the unfocused image elements (bokeh). This progression of the background and foreground creates a targeted focus on the main subject and leads to exciting image compositions.
