Description
In many areas of the world, clean drinking water cannot be taken for granted. It can be contaminated by bacteria as well as by chemicals or heavy metals. In southern countries, chlorine is added to drinking water which can cause stomach problems in children or susceptible adults. Heat and irregularly used water pipes also promote the growth of bacteria in the water pipes.

The rivaALVA EXPLORER OVERLAND drinking water filter provides a remedy. With this set you get safety in a double pack! A rivaALVA Life bio block activated carbon filter and a riva Multi legionella and bacteria filter. This combination offers you efficient protection and maximum safety.

The rivaALVA LIFE filter cartridge is a sintered activated carbon block filter cartridge for drinking water treatment. Due to the high adsorption capacity as well as the filter fineness of 20 µm, dissolved pollutants as well as existing suspended solids can be safely retained. The filter cartridge is food safe and is manufactured in Germany from renewable raw materials.

The riva MULTI filter cartridge is a hollow fiber membrane filter cartridge for drinking and shower water treatment. Due to the filter fineness of 0.2 µm, bacteria and germs as well as dissolved pollutants such as microplastics and particles or suspended matter can be safely retained. The filter cartridge is food safe and certified and manufactured in Germany.

Pollutant retention
Pollutant retention is achieved by three active principles:

- Due to the filter fineness of 0.2 µm, particles which are larger than the filter pores are retained. Based on the mechanical effect, for example, bacteria such as Legionella, pseudomonads, E. Coli, enterococci as well as suspended particles, rust particles and microplastics are retained.
- Due to the catalytic effect of the activated carbon, certain substances such as chlorine and chlorine compounds can be converted. These are subsequently no longer present in their original form.
- Due to the adsorptive effect of activated carbon, further pollutants can be absorbed. In this case, they attach themselves directly to the activated carbon and remain there. Thanks to the adsorptive effect, organic compounds such as pesticides, herbicides, insecticides, heavy metals such as lead and copper, drug residues, hormones as well as taste-disturbing substances can be retained.

Service life
The filter cartridge must be replaced after 6 months (according to DIN 1988). The recommended maximum flow rate is 7000 liters. Depending on the water quality, especially if the water flow is noticeably reduced, a filter cartridge change may also be necessary at shorter intervals.

Incl. filter reminder app: so that this also makes sense for our filters we have also integrated a reminder for changing water filters. So you can create each filter and set the installation date and change interval. Then the app reminds you when it is time to change your water filters.
